Thank you everyone for your continued support in the Christmas fundraiser. I thought it would be nice to continue to introduce you to the children that you will be helping. Meet Hong Wei, Fu Xing, Yuan Yuan and Liu Er.Dear COAT Family and Friends, here is some news about four of our children.
I was chatting to Lou Huan on skype tonight. Here is some of what she told me. These four children now live in Eagles’ Wings Two. They now understand that they are not orphans and that they have a family and they do not live in the orphanage. This has raised their self esteem hugely. They are growing up like other children.
Lou Huan says:
Hong Wei , Fu Xing, Yuan Yuan and Liu Er had mid semester exams last week.
Hong Wei's Chinese and all his results are excellent.
Fu Xing: Chinese 66 Math:76
: Yuan Yuan: Math 79
Liu Er : Chinese 22 math 57
We asked Liu Er how many friends does she at school ? She is very happy to tell us she has 3. You could feel she is very happy to have friends so we told her that is very good. She could invite her friends to Eagles’ Wings 2 at the weekend
The decision is very right to move them to public school:-) They are not afraid to talk with strangers now and they are very happy every day.

Lou Huan couldn’t remember Yuan Yuan’s Chinese results, but her maths is very very good for her. Liu Er was upset about her Chinese results and she went off to do her homework without an argument last night.
.
I will take the other three out to dinner with just me, a special Nai Nai night as a reward for passing. If Liu Er continues to do her homework without an argument, then she can join us… not for the results, but for her attitude.
.
She is very clever, but she tends to be lazy. A speech therapist came with CHI last year and taught us how to get Liu Er to exercise her mouth to strengthen it against the cerebral palsy so that she doesn’t dribble. It is working and she is happy about that… but she has to do the exercises every day.
.
Yuan Yuan (front) and Liu Er on the new tricycle I bought them in October. Both girls have cerebral palsy issues, but the trike is good exercise for them. The estate where we live is beautiful and safe for children to ride around the lanes. They can ride down to the creek and catch guppies and yabbies. In fact Hong Wei and Fu Xing have a pet yabby in the babies’ bathroom. They pinched a metal bowl that I had in the toy box and then they were pinching meat out of the fridge to feed the yabby. The ayi caught them getting the meat and since then, the poor yabby has lived on tofu. The darned thing is still alive and it scares the babies when it scuttles around the metal bowl if the babies are sitting in the bath.
Hong Wei is in front and Fu Xing is at the back. It is Fu Xing’s bike. Hong Wei loaned his to a teacher that afternoon. Hong Wei had only just mastered the art of riding a bicycle two days before I took this picture. See the shed doors behind them, we rent one of those to keep our van in and also there is a work bench where our driver does repairs. In his spare time, he is our repairman. He taught Hong Wei how to ride a bike.
.
Fu Xing had cancer in one kidney when he was a tot. I met him first then just after surgery to remove the kidney. He is healthy now. A local lady wants to adopt him, but it costs 30 000Y for that to happen. I asked God to choose a new family for him although Hong Wei will be upset to lose his brother. Hong Wei’s last brother went to America and now lives in Chicago. Hong Wei was very sad about that although they connect on skype sometimes although not so much lately as he is busy with school and playing with the other kids in the estate.
.
So you see, they are growing up very well and all because you all care enough to pray and/or give and/or go.
